Dear Tily,

Thanks for a very nice day and tour of the Jewish features of Istanbul.

We enjoyed your company and knowledge of the Jewish community and history in Istanbul.

We were especially lucky to visit on the last day of Sukkot, and to participate in the services and enjoy a small meal in the synagogue sukkah.

Tily, you have our sympathies about the loss of your mother and daughter a few yaers ago.

It’s a tragedy that hits all Jews in their hearts. I know it can never heal.

Stay well, and thanks again for a truly nice time.

Regards,

Phyllis and Neil Newman

My dear Tsili,

thank you so much for kind wishes ! Health is certainly the most important wish, happiness follows but everything is easier to get with prosperity – nobody wished me this before..so thank you:)) And I cannot say it better – I wish you the same !!!

It is always good to hear from you. I feel sorry that you and Myriam had so many health problems. Are you both better now? Are you still in Kusadasi (the first time I ever spent time in Turkey was in Davutlu, close to Kusadasi, but then K. was a small town with hardly any tourists – back in 1986. We rentet a flat from a Turk whose cousin lived in Germany in my hometown. I remember it warmly.

Yes, next time while I am in Istanbul I’ll visit you – I must see Myriam the miracle.

Dietrich and I spent a quiet time ovber Christmas and we had a nice evening with friends at New Year’s eve, very close to our flat so we walked home in a cold winter night at 3 o’clock.

Today I am teaching in Frankfurt/Oder. I have to take the train to come here – a very long day…

I am off for teaching now.

Kisses and lots of good thoughts,

yours Alexandra

Madame Rubinstein,

Ste Sophie

La Mosquée Bleue

Topkapi et la visite du harem

Merci de me faire savoir si vous êtes toujours disponibles.

Bien cordialement,

Anne-Catherine Garat

Dear Mrs. Rubinstein:

We would like to employ your services but would like to modify the second day . Perhaps we could pass by the Jewish Quarter and just get an explanation of the history and current activities.

We would like to see other things on the second day. Perhaps other interesting palaces or museums.

Thanks

Mr&Mrs Roger Adler

Dear Tsili,

I hope you still remember us from our visit in July 2006 during which you were our very helpful and knowledgeable guide. After that, I know you hosted our cousins Betty and Roger Adler. Today, I am writing to you, first to see how you and your daughter are (how old is she now?). We and the Bernsteins are doing fine, just getting a little slower with age.

I am hoping you can help us with some future plans.

1) My travel agent, her husband and a group of her friends will be in your area on an Oceania cruise about the end of October or beginning of November and if you are still giving tours, I would like to recommend you to them, so let me know if you could consider this.

2)Pablo and I are also planning a long cruise with Oceania which will start in Istanbul. My brother and sister-in-law from Dallas will be joining us. We are planning to fly into Istanbul on the afternoon of November 9,2009 (I think it is a Monday), stay overnight in Istanbul and then board our ship on Tuesday, Nov. 10 in the morning. Since we will be very tired from our long plane trip and the change in time, we do not plan to do any touring, but stay and rest in our hotel. If we have a chance to see you for a little while during this time, that would be great. What we would greatly appreciate is your recommending to us a reliable driver to pick the 4 of us from the airport with all of our luggage and take us to the hotel on the 9th, and then to take us to the port and our ship on the 10th. Since you have had experience with drivers with vans, we hope you can help us since we trust your judgment.

3) Finally, after leaving Istanbul, we will be stopping in Kusadasi and Cyprus and we wanted to know if you know any good guides working those ports, because the four of us would rather have a private tour when possible instead of going on the ship’s large bus tours.

I hope I am not imposing on you , but I know we had a lovely relationship and I felt comfortable contacting you about this before trying any other possibilities.

Best regards,

Eleanor and Pablo Siegal
